Who We Are
NE Safe Streets (formerly NE Seattle Greenways) is a group of neighbors like you who are working to make their streets safer and more comfortable for everybody.
We work on projects in U District, Roosevelt, Ravenna, Bryant, Laurelhurst, Windermere, Wedgwood, View Ridge, and Sand Point.

We meet the third Tuesday of every month at the U District Partnership Office (1415 NE 45th St) from 6:30-8:00pm. Add the monthly meetings to your calendar via the Google calendar below!
Upcoming Special Events!
Tuesday, June 16th 2026: Alex Hudson, Senior Policy Advisor in the Seattle Mayor's Office, is coming to talk about the 2026 Seattle Transit Measure Renewal. This renewal affects public transportation for the next ten years and is going to a City Council vote in July. There will be a short presentation followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Our Victories
- We advocated to fix Roosevelt Way NE and won!
- We redesigned, and got implemented, improvements to the Cowen Park bridge.
- We implemented temporary crossing improvements at 40th Ave NE crossing of the Burke Gilman Trail.
- We got implemented the second neighborhood greenway in Seattle on 39th Ave NE.
- We scouted and identified a crowd-sourced map of important walking and biking routes in NE Seattle
